My-project-3-1

Hello, Jen here!

I started the Teacup Tiny Homes company in 2016 after falling in love with tiny houses while watching HGTV. If you’ve been following this blog, you’ll know that my tiny roots come from my background in traditional home design & construction, and if you don’t follow this blog yet, we’d love to have you! You can join our mailing list here!

When I set out to build a company, my first priority was not actually tiny houses. Well, OK, it was a tiny house company, but what I mean is that from the beginning, my focus has been on people. After all, it’s people who will benefit from the houses!

To that end, my design style has always had a heavy emphasis on fostering emotional connection. There is just something special about creating spaces that encourage conversation, collaboration, and creativity. I think it’s because, in my mind, these are the tools needed to break free from the (sometimes monotonous) daily grind. I want to see people not just survive but thrive, which requires having the space and the tools to do so.

If you have ever considered becoming a Teacup tiny owner, it’s my hope that you know how much I care. I want you to feel secure, nurtured, and confident- not just in the tiny house but also in the build process. It’s exciting to bring a tiny house into your life, but thinking through the details of any new endeavor can be daunting, and that’s why I’ve made sure that you don’t have to do it alone!

Remember when I said that my first priority is people? Well, it’s true, and that includes the A+ team who helps me oversee all of the details. In fact, if there is something I’m more proud of than Teacup’s houses, it’s the people behind them! So, on that note, I thought it would be fun to introduce you to everyone today. That way, when you book a Discovery Call, you’ll be talking to old friends!

And so, without further adieu, meet the team!

Meet Shireen

I’m going to start with Shireen because chances are, you will too! Shireen is our clients’ initial point of contact, and trust me, you are in good hands with her! There is not a human on earth with a bigger heart than Shireen. Have you ever had the experience of feeling deeply understood? Her ability to ‘get’ people is one of Shireen’s strongest qualities. She loves listening to peoples’ stories and knows how to ask questions that will get to the root of your needs.

When Shireen isn’t assisting customers with everything from financing to the initial stages of the design process, she is keeping everything organized. You know those people who have color-coded tabs for everything and send an email before you can ask for the information? That’s Shireen. And speaking of emails, her favorite part of her job is sending YOU weekly pics of your Teacup’s progress.

Oh, and a quick PSA about Shireen: she’s never watched a horror movie in her life, but when she watches Bridget Jones’ Diary, her British accent goes into overdrive. Just a heads up, for when you book that Discovery Call.

Meet Ryan

The next person you will likely meet is Ryan. Ah. Ryan. Where do we begin?! He is our main man when it comes to project management and operations. Here at Teacup, we have an onboarding procedure to make sure you are familiarized with the entire process before we even swing a hammer. Ryan is the human who answers your questions, explains the various benefits of your Teacup options, and even gives support after you take possession.

Here is our PSA about Ryan: He LOVES donuts and hates honey mustard. Oh, and his hair deserves its own Instagram. For now, though, you can find pics of Ryan’s hair on our Instagram.

Meet Amy!!!

Yes, I know that was three exclamation points. Honestly, though, that’s how everyone feels about her! Amy manages our inventory and processes and helps with our quality-control checks. You know those humans who jump in with two feet? That’s Amy. She splits her time between the build team and administration, and we couldn’t be happier to have her keeping everyone in line.

So, what else should you know about this rockstar of a human? Well, she’s a Cross-Fit Instructor.

Now, on to the rest of the build team!

Meet Kevin

Kevin is one of our team leads. As a journeyman carpenter with ten years of construction experience, he knows a thing or two! And we are so glad he chooses to share his expertise with us here at Teacup

Everyone has a special skill, and Kevin’s talent is finding solutions to the strangest problems! So if something goes wrong, just bring it to Kevin. He’ll figure it out. Oh, except don’t go to him with issues regarding pickles. He actually just learned that they were made from cucumbers yesterday. How’s that for a quirk?

Meet Chris

Another person who has a quirk is our other Teacup team lead, Chris: the guy doesn’t drink coffee. I know. He’s been with us for almost a year, and we still can’t get over it! We’ll have to, though, because his finishing talents and knack for all things mechanical or electrical can’t be highlighted enough! There are people that are good at those sorts of things, and then there is Chris. He has a skill level you just don’t see every day!

Meet Terry!

Speaking of things you don’t see every day, meet Terry! Terry is truly one-of-a-kind. He is a welder by trade, but here, he specializes in installing the finishing touches! So how did he end up with us? Well, he saw that we were doing something different here at Teacup, and he reached out to ask if he could be a part of it! We couldn’t be more thrilled that he did. He’s a hard worker, and he helps keep our team’s spirits high. That last bit is so important- you want your tiny house to be finished by a human with good vibes!

Meet Adam!

And that brings us to Adam! Adam is Ryan’s favorite and best-looking son.** Though he has been part of the Teacup family in the past, he took on a full-time role about four months ago, and we are so glad he did! Adam is learning all elements of the build process, but he definitely takes after his dad- this guy is quickly becoming a master framer!
